Description

The APS Research Groups product is our latest creation, by far the most sophisticated tool available anywhere for astrologers to analyse select groups of people or events.  It is unparalleled in its precision of calculations and in the immensity of data that is provided.

Before we describe what this product contains, we would like you, the research astrologer, to become involved in creating your own list of entries for a personal research group of your own.  This may include up to 100 individuals or events, e.g., family, relatives, friends, co-workers, an Astro-Databank search list of your own choosing, etc., submitted (click on this Customer Personal and/or Astro-Databank Template to be filled out) with Name, Date, UT, Geog. LON and LAT of the birth of each individual or event, plus your preferred House System (22 to choose from).  We are quite sure many of you have wished a long time for such a product.  You have been wondering probably, “How can I view on my computer screen more than two or three charts of my family members, relatives, friends, public figures, etc., analyse the aspects, the synastry, each object’s distribution by Sign for all these individuals/events, see which Element or Modality is most or least dominant, etc.?  For all these individuals/events in your group, would you like to search for the Moon in 3° Taurus or Pluto in 12° Sagittarius – in fact, for any of 250 objects and extra points included?  This product does all this and more (see below)!

That is the easy part, though, compiling your list.  We do all the rest – in other words, provide you one file with up to 100 charts, fully-aspected with the Ecliptic or Galactic coordinates (you choose, not available anywhere else) of 250 specially-selected objects precisely calculated (click here for the alphabetical list) and with all the rest mentioned – yes, ALL for less than a dollar a chart!  Why settle for an imprecise chart with very few objects to delineate and a skimpy aspect grid to do your research?

All user submissions are privately maintained by us, not shared with anyone else, and we hope you will join the research effort.

WHAT IS PROVIDED IN THIS PRODUCT?

We have compiled some groups listed here using a familiar source, Astro-Databank, maintained by Astro.com, of which is predominantly the collected astrological data of Lois Rodden and her collaborators to be used for research, publications, etc.  We have used the Research Tool there to compile the data for our groups and, in some cases, e.g., the Terrorists group, expanded their list of 58 results by adding more records that do not appear in the search, e.g., Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, Bin Laden, al-Zawahiri, etc.  For this Terrorists group, we increased our list to 100 records from other sources using known birth dates but without a time.

In each group we have calculated 250 celestial objects for each individual or event based upon the Universal Time (UT) given in the sources.  We have used, instead of the Swiss Ephemeris (SE), the gold standard JPL Horizons API access for real-time results, including for a significant object that the SE doesn’t even recognize or calculate, the second observed interstellar comet C/2019 Q4 (Borisov).  Except for the Earthquake I and II groups, we have omitted including the angles of the chart due to the many Astro-Databank records with unknown or questionable birth times.  For these groups, we use only results for the discovered objects, not for the angles.  And, apart from the Moon and a few other fast movers that we calculate, e.g., 2021PH27 (the asteroid holding the record for the shortest orbital period among known asteroids – 114.59 days), the Zodiacal degree of a calculated object can be faithfully utilized for your proper research analyses.  Even without a birth time the object’s degree will most likely not change within 24 hours.

For your personal research group mentioned above, if you provide us with the Geog. coordinates (i.e., LON and LAT, we will include these extra points:  EP, ASC, MC, IC, VTX, Mean and “True” Nodes, the Mean, Osculating and Interpolated Apogees and the Interpolated Perigee, as well as the House Cusps of your selected House System.

In the Earthquakes I and II groups we have compiled our list from a USGS search, the first being Major Earthquakes Worldwide (7.9-9.5 Mag), the second group (7.7-7.89 Mag).  The precise Geog. coordinates are included, so we have listed the SE calculations of these extra points – EP, ASC, MC and IC.  All 30 aspects to these points and 250 objects are displayed in a grid of your choice, using either the Ecliptic or Galactic coordinate system.  With the Galactic, however, only the celestial objects are aspected.  You may select any of the several House Systems that the SE calculates (22 total), and we include an SE link to view these extra points and major planet and asteroid placements for comparison.

We have included a search feature that allows you to find any object or extra point in a particular degree of the Zodiac, e.g., Moon in 0° Pisces.  For many objects, however, this within-a-degree-precision is not always the case using SE calculations even with an exact UT input for the birth or event, as we’ve shown in our A Comparison List of Ephemeris Objects: Does It Matter?  We, therefore, recommend using the gold standard JPL Horizons results for quality research, especially if the study is published.

For each group entry we display the MPC #, Name, DEC (highlighted if out-of-bounds), Geocentric LON and LAT, as well as the Galactic LON and LAT, any of which column may be sorted as you wish.  You may select either coordinate system (i.e., Ecliptic or Galactic) to view a complete grid of aspects (30 total).  All 250 objects and extra points are aspected to any of 15 interactively-selected objects within the complete list.  This enables the astrologer to have a never-before better view of the geometry among the heavenly objects, to see what is interacting with what, a feature unavailable in any software product to our knowledge.  We also display a distribution of each object (48 interactively selected) by Zodiacal Sign highlighting the dominant one, the Element and Modality Dominance for each chart.  For the entire group, we display the Distribution of the Angle Rulers with the dominant planet highlighted, as well as the Hemisphere Longitude Dominance (E-W) and Latitude Dominance (N-S), not to mention the Tropics of the Cancer and Capricorn Dominance and Equatorial Dominance.  And, included also is each object/angle’s Distribution by Degree of the Zodiac, listing up to four of the dominant objects per degree.

The research groups with total charts that we currently offer are:

  • Astrologers – 100
  • Astronomers – 100
  • Cult Leaders – 50
  • Earthquakes I – 146
  • Earthquakes II – 143
  • Rapists-Sex Crime – 167
  • Terrorists – 100
  • U.S. Presidents – 45/46

For minimization of accidental formulas or data deletion and thus suspending its proper functionality, the file is password-protected while preserving the functionalities of the interactivity and sorting.  Please be advised that the Research Groups file contains a lot of data, and it may load a bit slower than most Excel files due to this reason depending on the computer you use.

Note:  We strongly advise the purchaser of this product to immediately save the email and to backup the file(s) before using.  APS does NOT hold any responsibility if a customer somehow unprotects the file, deletes inadvertently the formulas/data and suspends the proper functionality of the Research Groups file.  We also do NOT provide any support for such customer actions.  If it does occur (hopefully not), simply revert to the original email and the backup.
